Our Local Bounty - 2015

COMMUNITY SUPPORTED AGRICULTURE

A CSA with Our Local Bounty

We, Keith and Michelle Chandler, the founders of Our Local Bounty, have always tried to find, support, and purchase locally-produced foods and other products. After dealing with some serious health issues, which were caused by environmental toxicity, we became acutely aware of the chemicals and additives in our food supply and household environment.

In our attempt to produce our own food, we found many friends and neighbors who were also interested in all-natural foods, produce, and other products. This created an amazing community that supports each other and learns from one another. It became increasingly difficult, however, to balance our time between raising and preparing our own food, assisting friends in doing the same, and working to earn a living. "Our Local Bounty" was born out of trying to create this balance.

Our Local Bounty is just getting started here in Spring City, Utah. We have developed a greenhouse-based growing system that will allow us to provide basic fruits and vegetables year round. We will augment them with locally-grown summer produce in season, all delivered to your home weekly, in quantities appropriate for you and your family.

We currently have USDA locally-raised pasture-fed Black Angus beef and lamb available to members as an "add-on" item.

We will be able to offer members heirloom seeds from the Our Local Bounty seed bank and, in the spring, potted-plant starts for their own summer gardens, all started from heirloom seeds. We hope to be able to add locally-produced old-world style breads, tortillas, eggs, cheeses, mushrooms, honey, jams, jellies, syrups, and salt. We will also be adding locally-made, all-natural personal-care products. We will be offering back-to-basics classes, taught by many local experts, on dozens of topics.

Our heated high-production greenhouse ensures year-round growing of basic produce. We use heirloom-seed varieties, and we guarantee the quality of our produce from start to finish. Excess produce will be shared first to "Founding Members", then to general members, and then offered for sale to the public.

As a member of Utah's Own and Utah's Bounty, your Our Local Bounty membership means you have the option to support other local businesses and products from our state. These "add-on" items will be delivered to your home, along with your Our Local Bounty harvest.

Our Local Bounty works for you and our community!
